How it started
I’m Maggie — founder, designer, and the creative mind behind Buoy 71.
This brand started as something small: shirts I designed for my own family before a beach day, a trip to the aquarium, or a new place we were lucky enough to explore together. They were keepsakes — worn long after the trip, reminders of moments that mattered.
Over time, I realized I wasn’t just designing shirts. I was helping people hold onto the stories that make life feel full.
What began as a personal passion for design and storytelling has grown into a brand rooted in memory, meaning, and the magic of everyday adventures.
Buoy 71 was built around a simple idea: use adventure, design, and family experiences to deepen our connection to the ocean — and support the places working to protect it. What started as creating shirts for our own family grew into something bigger: a reason to explore, learn, and partner with the people and places protecting the water we love.
